How is Car Import Duty Calculated in Pakistan?

Importing a car into Pakistan involves a fixed duty structure for Asian makes (like Japanese JDM cars) under the Personal Baggage, Gift, or Transfer of Residence (TR) schemes.

Age Depreciation

Used cars get a depreciation allowance of 1% per month for the first 36 months, up to a maximum of 36%. A 3-year-old car (36 months) gets a 36% discount on the base duty.

Hybrid Vehicle Exemptions

Under current policies, hybrid vehicles (HEVs) up to 1800cc get a 50% exemption on customs duties and taxes. Vehicles from 1801cc to 2500cc get a 25% exemption.
